Dear Neighbors,
Our SEPTA Senior Pass event is almost here! If you haven’t already, register now to join us at the Ben Wilson Senior Center next Wednesday, January 21 to sign up for your SEPTA Senior Pass, which gets residents age 65+ free fare on all SEPTA lines.
The event is by appointment so that we can be as efficient as possible! You’ll be able to book an appointment here.
Public transit is what keeps PA moving – so take advantage of this chance to get where you need to go, for free.
In Service,
Brian
We’re closed for MLK Day on Jan. 19
All the best for your well-earned retirement!
I recently honored Officer Richard Hackman with a House citation for his retirement from the Warrington Township Police Department after 38 total years in law enforcement. Officer Hackman spent 28 of those 38 years with the Warrington team. During his time in Warrington, he served on the Highway Unit, Motor Unit, Honor Guard, and the SWAT and Crisis Intervention teams.
Pennie enrollment is open until Jan. 31
Pennie, Pennsylvania’s official state-based health insurance marketplace, is open for enrollment at pennie.com through January 31. The open enrollment period is the only time each year that you can shop for health coverage, and has been extended this year so that more residents have a chance to access affordable health plans.
Get your flu shot this winter
Flu cases are surging this winter and emergency rooms are seeing higher flu caseloads than in past years. State health officials say it’s not too late to get vaccinated. According to the state Health Department, an annual vaccine lowers your risk of serious illness, protects your family and community, and helps reduce the spread of disease.
If you missed your chance to get vaccinated at our fall vaccine clinic, you can still book an appointment at area pharmacies to get your shot. Pharmacies with available appointments can be found here.
2026 PHEAA financial aid assistance webinars
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency is hosting a series of webinars to help you plan for and afford higher education. Starting January 13, the series will cover two topics: Searching for Scholarships and Affording the Balance, and Advanced Planning for Financing Higher Education.
This is a great, free way to get important information about advancing your education. Check them out!
