In celebration of National CROWN Day on July 3, I am organizing the National CROWN Day Natural Hair Care Products Drive to benefit the Foster Love Project and its Excellent Hair Care program for youth in foster care. Donations will be collected through July 31. There are three ways to support this effort.

How You Can Donate Hair Care Products

In-Person Drop-Off
Community members can purchase and drop off new natural hair care products at three locations.
Collection bins will be available during normal business hours: 

• Capitol Office (111A East Wing, Capitol Complex in Harrisburg)
• District Office (2015–2017 Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh)
• Chelsea Rae Salon (5971 Broad Street in East Liberty in Pittsburgh)

Online Purchase
Supporters may also purchase the recommended natural hair care products online and have them shipped directly for donation.

Why This Matters

Foster youth often do not have access to the culturally specific natural hair care products they need and deserve to take care of their crowns.

Donations from this drive will expand the supply of products available to foster care youth who can new clothes, shoes, and toiletries including hair products at no cost through the Foster Love Project.

By helping foster youth care for and celebrate their natural hair, this effort brings the promise of Pennsylvania's CROWN Act to life in the daily lives of young people, affirming that they belong exactly as they are.
