It has been a meaningful and energizing few weeks, and I wanted to share some of the incredible conversations, events, and partnerships that continue to shape our work together, but first I must share the devastating news of the fire at Mitzvah Circle.
This organization has been a lifeline for many; providing dignity, comfort, and essential items to families in crisis. To see their space damaged by fire is heartbreaking.
But in moments like these, we’re reminded of the strength of our community. We have the power to come together, lift each other up, and make a real difference.
Right now, Mitzvah Circle urgently needs our help. If you're able, please consider donating any of the following:
?? Sneakers (all sizes—women’s, men’s, and children’s; new or gently used)
?? Underwear (women’s, men’s, and boys’; must be new)
?? Toiletries (new)
?? Baby items (new)
Every item donated is a step toward healing and hope for families who need it most. Let’s show what compassion looks like in action. Let’s show that even in the face of loss, our community stands strong.
If you’re able to help, please reach out or drop off donations at my office Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm.

??? Championing Student Wellness
|
I had the pleasure of speaking with Gail about HR273, a Resolution Urging School Districts to Adopt Later Secondary School Start Times. Her passion for student wellness and academic success is truly contagious. We discussed the science behind adolescent sleep cycles and the compelling evidence that later start times can lead to improved mental and physical health, stronger academic performance, and higher graduation rates. Of course, implementing change comes with challenges, from transportation logistics to family schedules, but HR273 presents an opportunity to make thoughtful, science-backed decisions that prioritize our students’ wellbeing. I am committed to exploring creative solutions that support healthier futures for our children.

?? Connecting with the AAPI Coalition
|
I was honored to join Leader Bradford for a visit to the Jaisohn Center and connect with the AAPI Coalition. These organizations are doing powerful, community-centered work that uplifts families, amplifies voices, and creates opportunities. Building strong relationships with groups like these is essential to fostering equity, inclusion, and lasting progress. I’m proud to stand alongside partners who are deeply committed to making our communities more just and more vibrant.

?? Stepping Forward for Mental Health
|
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the 7th Annual Jack Duffy 5K Power Run & 1M Walk such a meaningful success. Every stride taken and every dollar raised supports suicide prevention and mental health awareness through the Jack Duffy Empowerment Foundation. It was a moving reminder of the power of community and the importance of continuing to serve, help, and empower, keeping Jack’s spirit alive in every step.

Whether it’s advocating for student health, supporting grassroots organizations, or walking together for a cause, I am continually inspired by the strength and compassion of our community. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Join us for our Free Shredding Event—a fantastic opportunity to protect your personal information while making a positive impact on your community! ??????
Safely dispose of old documents and keep your sensitive information out of the wrong hands. Paper shredding is a powerful deterrent to identity theft, making it nearly impossible for thieves to reconstruct private details. Plus, shredding supports paper recycling, helping to reduce waste in landfills!
And here’s another way to give back—bring non-perishable food items for donation and support local food banks while you’re here.
We’re thrilled to offer this service again for our constituents. Protect your identity, reduce waste, and help your community—all in one event! Hope to see you there!
