Rep. Tim Brennan hosted a House Majority Policy Hearing in his district at New Hope-Solebury High School on September 8, 2025. Testifiers were: former Congressmen James Gerlach and Joe Hoeffel, who founded PA Civics; Lauren Cristella, President of the Committee of Seventy; and Shannon Salter Burghardt, an educator at the Allentown School District and chair of the Educating for American Democracy Teacher Leadership Task Force. Mark Schweiker, Pennsylvania’s 44th Governor, delivered an introduction.
Before participating in a House Majority Policy Hearing on civics education in New Hope-Solebury High School's auditorium, Rep. Tim Brennan and former Gov. Mark Schweiker engaged with students in a town hall-style session in the school library. Students had the chance to ask questions, with some selected for further discussion at the hearing. Students also interviewed the lawmakers for the school’s TV news show.
Rep. Tim Brennan spoke about his proposal, H.B. 191, at an American Heart Association news conference on May 6 that called on lawmakers to support this and Sen. Rosemary Brown's legislation that would require schools to provide an AED at all interscholastic athletic events. The bill would also require schools to provide CPR and AED instruction to employees and volunteers, and to create a cardiac emergency response plan for them to follow. State Rep. Tim Brennan and state Sen. Steve Santarsiero met with Bucks County officials at New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company to present a $246,500 state grant for the Hal H. Clark Boat Launch in Solebury Township.
On Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, state Rep. Tim Brennan and state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, both D-Bucks, joined community leaders to formally dedicate the bridge along State Street over the 611 Bypass in Doylestown Township as the Donald E. Parlee Memorial Bridge at a ceremony at Doylestown Hospital.
State Rep. Tim Brennan and state Sen. Steve Santarsiero recently visited Central Bucks Regional Police Department, which serves Chalfont, New Britain and Doylestown, to present $75,000 in state funding secured to purchase necessary equipment for the department’s expanding K9 Unit. The funds are expected to be used for a new vehicle outfitted for canine safety. The funding was granted by the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
