Dear Neighbor,
SEPTA's August 14 deadline to prevent cuts has passed, and on August 24, riders will feel the consequences: fewer buses and trains, higher fares, and lasting damage to our economy. Head here to see all the impacted routes and schedules.
These cuts will hit workers trying to get to their jobs, students traveling to their first day of school on August 25, patients accessing care, and everyone who depends on a functioning regional economy.
I’ve voted five times to deliver full and permanent funding for public transit because I know what is at stake for millions of Pennsylvanians. I’ll remain committed to fighting for a real solution, but there is no question that the harm will be profound and immediate if the Senate continues to block full funding.
We're in a crisis moment, and now is the time for action. Please reach out to Senate Republicans HERE and demand they get back to work for the people of Pennsylvania and deliver a real, sustainable plan to fund public transit.

Celebrating a successful Backpack Giveaway and Family Resource Fair
|
Thank you to everyone who came to my Backpack Giveaway and Family Resource Fair on Sunday! We provided over 180 children with backpacks and school supplies to begin the new school year with a great start.
We had representatives and volunteers from PENNIE, SEPTA, PECO, Master Gardeners of Delaware County, Community Action Agency, Purple House Project, Child and Family Focus, and Delaware County DHS for our Family Resource Fair. I’d like to thank everyone for coming out and providing great information to our neighbors.
I’d also like to thank Aldan Borough for allowing us to host another great event!

Paul Miller’s Law is in effect, don’t drive distracted!
|
I’m reminding all residents to put the phone down while driving. Nearly 15 years ago, 21-year-old Paul Miller was killed by someone else’s unsafe choices behind the wheel.
This year, Paul Miller’s Law went into effect, which makes it illegal to use a handheld cell phone while driving -- even while temporarily stopped at a red light.
Just one second of distracted driving can lead to irreversible consequences. No text or phone call is worth someone’s life.
Focusing on the road while driving is one of the best ways to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you. Follow these steps for a safe drive:
- If you are expecting a text message or need to send one that can’t wait, pull over and park your car in a safe location before using your device.
- Ask a passenger to be your “designated texter.” Allow them access to your phone to respond to calls or messages.
- Do not engage in social media scrolling or messaging while driving.
- Cell phone use is habit-forming. Struggling to not text and drive? Activate your phone’s “Do Not Disturb” feature, silence notifications, or put your phone in the trunk, glove box, or back seat of your vehicle until you arrive at your destination.

Confirm your address, and you could receive a check in about 45 days!
Head here or contact my office for help searching for other unclaimed funds of yours that PA Treasury may be holding in safekeeping – the average claim is worth over $1,000!
