Speaking out against the Big, Ugly Bill
|
I joined my fellow legislators this week to speak up against the Trump administration’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” We made our stance clear, this big, UGLY bill will make substantial cuts to vital services that we cannot fill on the state level.
|
Thousands across our district will lose health care coverage and food assistance and we’re losing clean energy tax credits only to add trillions to the national debt. And what is the gain? Tax cuts for the ultra-rich.
In Pennsylvania, we need policies that strengthen the middle class and lift up those who are struggling, not legislation that rigs the system even further in favor of the wealthy few.

Recognizing September 2025 as “International Underground Railroad Month”
|
This week, the House passed a resolution recognizing September 2025 as "International Underground Railroad Month" in Pennsylvania!
The Underground Railroad is a significant freedom movement in African American history. It took unimaginable courage and heroism to participate in the movement. This resolution honors our great state and its people as well as those who have fought and continue to fight for their freedom.
In our district, the Upper Darby Underground Railroad Walking Tour is something I encourage residents to partake in (especially in September!) It's the first iteration of an ongoing effort to research and highlight the history of the Underground Railroad and early American life.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended!
|
Rebates on property taxes and rent paid in 2024 as part of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program started going out on July 1, 2025.
This initial distribution will include approximately 425,000 rebates totaling $258 million — critical relief that is going to older homeowners, renters, and people with disabilities across Pennsylvania.
The application period for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2025. Call my office today at (484) 200-1563 to schedule an appointment to complete your application.

What’s happening in Harrisburg
|
This week, my House colleagues and I passed important bills that will help our neighbors and improve our communities:
|
We're protecting consumers by requiring companies to provide notification before each automatic renewal, to be transparent about renewal terms, and to allow subscribers to cancel their subscription services exclusively online if they initially subscribed online (HB 1299).
|
We’re prioritizing the safety of hotel workers by requiring hotel employers to provide devices that serve as “panic buttons” for employees working alone servicing guestrooms (HB 1358).
We're keeping campgrounds affordable by exempting privately-owned campgrounds from local amusement and admission taxes (HB 1424).
The bills now move to the Senate for consideration.

Donation Drive for Mitzvah Circle
|
In addition to providing free menstrual products to families in need, Mitzvah Circle’s Period Supply program provides free menstrual products to local libraries, prisons, community centers, colleges and more than 345 partner organizations—filling the gaps in Gov. Shapiro’s initiative to provide free period supplies to K-12 schools. Furthermore, this program helps reach young women and girls when they are not in school through Mitzvah Circle’s large-scale “Period Supply Giveaways” and “Pads in the Park” initiatives.
Please consider supporting @MitzvahCircle’s donation drive. My office, at 6 S. Springfield Road, Unit A in Clifton Heights, is a drop-off location!
