Borowski hosting three events this month tailored for senior residents
Rep. Lisa Borowski September 18, 2025
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Sept. 17 – State Rep. Lisa Borowski is hosting three events in September to help the Delco seniors she represents apply for or renew their SEPTA Senior Key Card, learn more about how to spot and avoid frauds and scams, and learn how to protect and manage their digital assets and online footprint.
Seniors 65 and older who are looking to apply for or renew a SEPTA Senior Key Card can do so with help from Borowski’s office from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 22 at Newtown Public Library, located at 201 Bishop Hollow Road in Newtown Square.
“Many people are not aware that senior residents aged 65 and older can ride all SEPTA lines for free with a Senior Fare Card,” Borowski said. “Getting one is quick and easy, and my office is always available to help. Just bring a valid driver’s license or photo ID and be prepared to get your picture taken at this event. Our office will do the rest!”
Borowski’s popular Scam Jam event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Wayne Senior Center, located at 108 Station Road in Wayne.
“This fun and informative program is meant to help people spot and avoid frauds and scams, which disproportionately and unfortunately target older adults,” Borowski said. “Come out, have some fun, and learn ways to protect yourself and your loved ones from unscrupulous fraudsters.”
Scam Jam attendees will get tips and information from the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, Radnor Police Department, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and AARP Pennsylvania.
A Digital Legacy Blueprint event being held from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Newtown Square Library will teach seniors how to protect and manage their online presence—social media, email, online banking, and more—as part of their estate plan.
“Without proper planning, families may struggle to access or close digital accounts after a loved one's passing,” Borowski said. “A certified elder law attorney will be at this event to guide seniors through the practical steps they can take to ensure their digital assets are handled according to their wishes."
Registration for the Digital Legacy Blueprint event is required. People interested in this event can email RepBorowski@pahouse.net, call Borowski’s office at 484-427-2884 or RSVP online at this link: https://www.pahouse.net/borowski/RSVP/?id=1781.
Space also is limited for the SEPTA and Scam Jam events. Seniors who are interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance by email to RepBorowski@pahouse.net or by calling her office at 484-427-2884.
