Raise the Wage

More than 750,000 Pennsylvanians make less than $15 an hour. Meanwhile, rent keeps rising. Groceries cost more. Health care, gas, child care, utilities — all up. But our minimum wage is still $7.25.

That simply doesn’t add up.

If you work full time, you should not be living in poverty. A job should mean stability. It should mean you can pay your bills, keep a roof over your head, and plan for the future instead of constantly falling behind.

Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour is a basic step toward restoring fairness in our economy. And tying it to inflation just makes sense. When prices go up but wages stay frozen, workers effectively take a pay cut every year. No one votes on it. It just happens.

We adjust Social Security for inflation. We account for rising costs in every other part of our economy. Working people deserve the same common-sense protection.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about fairness and dignity. It’s about making sure hard work in Pennsylvania is respected and rewarded.

If you believe that when you work hard you should be able to live with security and opportunity, add your name and stand with us.
