Delloso announces $337,100 in state grants for 162nd Legislative District projects

HARRISBURG, Oct. 7 – State Rep. Dave Delloso announced today that $337,100 in state grants were awarded for implementation, rehabilitation, and development projects throughout the 162nd Legislative District.

“These state funding announcements are always great news for me and my community because we get to see the work I put in to bring more funding to our district pay off. Every dollar that comes back to our community is important because the projects they support will have a positive impact on the people who live here, whether that’s improving local parks or supporting environmental efforts,” Delloso said.

“I am glad that I could play a part in securing these grants, and I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my colleague, Sen. Timothy P. Kearney, for his work in helping these grants get allocated to these projects.”

Prospect Park Borough received $115,000 for the rehabilitation of Moore’s Lake Park. Work will include renovation of the pavilion, construction of pedestrian walkways and a parking area, installation of utilities, ADA access, landscaping, and other related site improvements.

Ridley Park Borough received $72,100 for the rehabilitation of Bonnes Park. Work will include renovation of pedestrian walkways, installation of playground safety surfacing and lighting, ADA access, and other related site improvements.

In addition to that funding, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society was awarded $150,000 to coordinate urban and community forestry in the city of Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania. Delloso noted that this funding will specifically be used to engage communities in planting trees and building local tree stewardship capacity in Delaware County as well as in the counties of Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

This grant funding is from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which is managed by the DCNR Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. The Community Conservation Partnerships Program builds connections between Pennsylvanians and the outdoors by supporting recreational improvements, natural resource conservation, and community revitalization efforts.
