Delloso announces more than $2.5M in state funding, including $1M for a future project at Taylor Hospital

HARRISBURG, Sept. 15 – State Rep. David Delloso today announced that more than $2.5 million in state Local Share Account funding has been awarded to projects in the 162nd Legislative District, including $1 million for a future project at Taylor Hospital.
“Today I'm proud to announce that Main Line Health has been awarded $1 million in LSA grant funding for a future project at Taylor Hospital,” Delloso said. “Prospect Medical's bankruptcy and subsequent closure have had devastating effects in Delaware County. My district, in particular, suffered significantly from the shutdown of Taylor Hospital. Taylor wasn’t just a healthcare provider but a major employer in the area, too. As is standard for private equity firms, services were cut to siphon larger profit margins for shareholders until patients and employees were left with nothing.
“It will take years of continuous work to fully recover from the hospital closures that have plagued the county, but I am proud of the steps that my colleagues and I have taken toward that goal,” Delloso added. “In July, $4 million was awarded to MLH to help restore emergency services to our area, crucial to reducing the strain on remaining health care facilities. Minutes can mean the difference between life and death in an emergency, and making sure my constituents have access to critical care has been a top priority of mine.
“I look forward to seeing what developments are made with Taylor Hospital, and I will be sure to keep you updated,” Delloso said. “In the meantime, I will continue to push for tighter regulations to prevent parasitic equity firms from destroying necessary care systems in the future.”
The $2.5 million in funding will also support other projects throughout the community, including:
- $500,000 to purchase and upfit new police vehicles for use in Darby Township.
- $254,835 for the purchase of two 2026 F-450 trucks to be used by the Public Works Department in Folcroft Borough.
- $250,000 to purchase a new fire engine pumper truck for use in Sharon Hill Borough.
- $200,000 for the purpose of making improvements to Park Square in Prospect Park Borough.
- $158,270 for the Kuegler Park Improvements Project located in Norwood Borough.
- $155,194 to purchase two police vehicles in Folcroft Borough.
- $100,000 to improve Montgomery Park in Folcroft Borough.
- $100,000 for the installation of new crosswalks located in Rutledge Borough.
- $99,365 to renovate the exterior of the Pump House Building located in Ridley Park Borough.
“These grants will help fund projects that our communities have identified as important priorities, from public safety and emergency services to parks, infrastructure and municipal equipment,” Delloso said. “I’m pleased to see this funding coming to the 162nd District and helping our local communities make these improvements. These are investments that will benefit residents and strengthen the services they depend on every day.”
LSA funds are provided through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that improve the quality of life for residents and communities across Pennsylvania.
