Young presents $425,000 to Colwyn Borough to improve infrastructure

COLWYN, March 13 – State Rep. Regina Young, D- Phila./Delaware, today presented a check for $425,000 to Colwyn Borough for Walnut Street sanitary sewer improvements.
The funds were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) PA Small Water and Sewer Program, a division of the Department of Community and Economic Development.
Young was joined by several key stakeholders in the borough.
“Ensuring the health and safety of my neighbors is my top priority,” Young said. “Securing infrastructure like sewer pipes is imperative because if they fail, it causes not only a headache for local utilities and their workers but can cause irreparable environmental damage affecting the health and safety of entire communities. This is a vital investment in our public protection, health and security.”
“I’m super proud of the great work we are able to accomplish working with state Representative Regina Young, Mayor Clark and borough council,” Nibblins said. “We are incredibly dedicated to providing Colwyn Borough with excellent service. As council president, I’m committed to working and growing with our mayor and council as we bring assistance and resources to improve our borough.”
This grant was part of over $800,000 recently awarded to Delaware County municipalities located in the 185th legislative district through the ARPA H2O PA and PA Small Water and Sewer programs.
Funds distributed through the Small Water and Sewer program provide for small water, sewer and storm system water infrastructure projects. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $105.6 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to the PA Small Water and Sewer Program.
