The Pennsylvania House of Representatives recognized and honored Caseem Wongus for his heroism during the Northeast Philadelphia Plane Crash in January. Wongus saved a 9-year-old boy who was on fire. He smothered the flames with his jacket and helped get the boy into a patrol car to be taken to the hospital. He was honored with a Citation from state Reps. Sean Dougherty and Jared Solomon.

In his ongoing effort to protect his communities from the coronavirus, state Rep. Jared Solomon teamed up with SunRay Drugs to connect more than 200 eligible individuals in Northeast Philadelphia with the COVID-19 vaccine at Kinder Academy on Monday, March 8.

Rep. Solomon welcomed Gov. Wolf, state Sens. Tartaglione and Sabatina, community leaders and stakeholders celebrated the grand opening of the Toben Center, a new one-stop shop that puts people on the path to a family-sustaining career. The Toben Center houses the Northeast Learning Center, that provides high school equivalency classes; Harcum College, which provides associates-level classes in Human Services and Business Management; and the Job and Business Resource and Referral Center, which provides one-on-one job counseling and help with CareerLink.
