Sanchez applauds $40K grant toward creation of community park

UPPER DUBLIN, Nov. 19 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, today announced that Upper Dublin Township received $40,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program to benefit the Twining Valley Park development project.

Funding will help cover expenses associated with phase two of the project, which includes the construction of a bike park. The bike park will include a bike playground and asphalt pump track.

“Phase one of the Twining Valley Park development project constructed five miles of trails, so providing the option to bike is a logical next step that I think many community members will enjoy,” Sanchez said. “Secluded and protected bike trails offer a pleasant escape from bike lanes in urban areas, and this will be a welcomed addition to our community.”

This redevelopment project consists of repurposing a former 105-acre golf course into a community park. The total project cost is $652,610.
