A big move for Upper Dublin Township, Around the District and more...

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you find this week’s News and Events email helpful as we look at what’s coming up in and around the district.  As always, my team and I are here to help you with any state-related matter and are happy to provide as much information as we can.

Whether you need a service, want to share your concerns, offer ideas or drop off a donation for one of our drives, we’d love to see you at my district office during our walk-in hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Alternatively, feel free to reach out at (215) 517-6800 or via email at RepSanchez@pahouse.net.

Wishing you and yours a good week ahead.

Upper Dublin Township Announces Big Move!

Aerial view of new township building with addresses of Township Offices and Police Department. 801 Loch Alsh Avenue and 803 Loch Alsh Avenue, respectively.

A long-awaited announcement is out from Upper Dublin Township that I'd like to amplify for my readers.  After the devastating tornado that took the township building and Police Station, their newly rebuilt offices are about to open!

The coordination and true community efforts to make this possible deserves kudos to many, but especially to Township Manager Kurt Ferguson and his team, The Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners, Police Chief Wheatley and his entire department and the folks at Upper Dublin Library for opening their doors to accommodate their temporary building needs. UD's full statement can be found below:

We’re excited to share some big updates as we begin an important new chapter in Upper Dublin. Over the next few weeks, several Township departments will be moving into brand-new, modern facilities designed to improve accessibility, efficiency, and service to our community.

As many of you know, the tornado four years ago changed so much in Upper Dublin. Since that day, our residents, partners, and neighbors have worked together to rebuild, restore, and move forward. Now, we’re just days away from officially opening our new Police Station and Township Administration Building.

A map showing the new entrances and parking for both the Police Department and administrative offices can be found here.

Delivering my State-of-the-State Reports

In the past couple of weeks, I had the pleasure of presenting my office's "State of the State" report to two different senior living communities in my district, Rydal Park & Waters and Sunrise of Abington.

I was joined by Abington Township's Ward 7 Commissioner, Stuart Winegrad, and staff from Senator Art Haywood's office as we went through the state budget, my legislative efforts and information from both the state and township level.

I always enjoy coming out to give these presentations to local communities, but it was a unique moment to be introduced by my very own Aunt Jackie as we began our talk at Rydal Park.

I was proud to stand with Tigris Foundation as a community partner of their Book Drive along with Senator Maria Collett and others.

It was incredible to see the donations pouring into the event. The drive brought in a record 18,000 books that filled TWO trucks!

Congratulations to the folks at Tigris Foundation for a successful drive and thank you for letting us be a part of the day. To learn more about how you can help get books into the hands of folks everywhere, go to booksmiles.org.
