Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you find this week’s News and Events email helpful as we look at what’s coming up in and around the district.  As always, my team and I are here to help you with any state-related matter and are happy to provide as much information as we can.

Whether you need a service, want to share your concerns, offer ideas or drop off a donation for one of our drives, we’d love to see you at my district office during our walk-in hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Alternatively, feel free to reach out at (215) 517-6800 or via email at RepSanchez@pahouse.net.

Wishing you and yours a good week ahead.

Sincerely,

State Representative Ben Sanchez

IN MY LEGISLATIVE EFFECTIVENESS ERA

Recently, I was ranked as one of the most effective legislators in Pennsylvania in a recent report by the Center for Effective Lawmaking, a collaborative from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University.  Out of 107 legislators in my category, I was selected as lucky #13.

It is an honor to work with my colleagues in the PA House of Representatives, to represent all of the constituents of my district, and to create meaningful legislation that affects not only my community, but the entire Commonwealth.  I can't thank you enough for trusting me to represent you in the legislature, a trust that I hope to continue to earn from you for years to come.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so here’s a friendly reminder that early detection saves lives. Make sure to schedule your screenings and remind loved ones to do the same.

This month, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and show our gratitude to Pennsylvania’s doctors, nurses, organizations, and volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of breast cancer patients and working tirelessly to find a cure.

WINTER IS COMING - MANAGING SALT ON ROADWAYS

Representative Joe Webster and I are pleased to announce that our House Bill 664 regarding Road Salt Management passed the PA House this week with a 104-99 vote.

HB664 directs PennDOT and the Department of Environmental Protection to collaborate and develop the best management practices for the use and reduction of salt to treat our roadways.

The bill now heads to the PA Senate for consideration.  Contact your Senator and let them know to protect our environment, wildlife and roadways by supporting this piece of legislation.
