Rep. Chris Pielli June 18, 2025 | 2:42 PM
Hi Folks,
These last few days have been extremely stressful for many of us as we have navigated between the horrific political assassinations and assaults of Minnesota elected officials and their family members followed by the near tragedy of a heavily armed man arrested at the recent “No Kings” rally, who was later arrested for a second time due to his possession of numerous explosive devices. First and foremost, I want to thank the vigilance and professionalism of West Chester’s finest, the West Chester Police Department. I also want to give my heartfelt thanks to all other law enforcement agencies like our Sherriff’s Department and our District Attorney’s Office for all that they have done to help us avert what could have been an unspeakable tragedy. Day in and day out, often behind the scenes, these dedicated public servants constantly strive to keep us safe while putting themselves in harm’s way. These recent events serve to remind us how truly blessed we are to have them as a part of our community.
It goes without saying that these are challenging times. And while the world often seems on the brink of insanity, it reminds us that it is up to everyday responsible citizens to remain calm and help our community steer clear from madness and violence. As such, I unequivocally denounce any form of political violence while I strenuously defend every American’s right to peacefully protest. Democracy, the Republic, and for which it stands, is often difficult, demanding, and yes, even divisive. But this 250-year-old experiment is still the pride and light of liberty for all those yearning to be free. We have been through dark times before but, if we keep in mind that what unites us as neighbors and members of the community is always more powerful than any malicious division sown to separate us, everything is going to be alright. I end this note with my heart felt prayers and condolences to our Minnesota colleagues and their families, a fervent prayer for peace, and that all of you Stay Well, Stay Safe, and Stay Strong.
