Pashinski’s office working to return more than $3.6 million in unclaimed property to constituents

PLAINS, June 5 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski announced today that his office is actively working to help reunite residents of the 121st Legislative District with more than $3.6 million in unclaimed property currently being held by the Commonwealth.
Pashinski’s staff has begun reviewing records and identifying district residents who may be entitled to unclaimed funds. The office will reach out directly to potential claimants via email and the United States Postal Service to assist them in recovering money or property that belongs to them.
“Many people are surprised to learn that they have unclaimed property waiting for them,” Pashinski said. “These funds can come from forgotten bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance payments, utility deposits, or other sources. The Commonwealth even holds physical valuables. My staff is working hard to connect residents with money that rightfully belongs to them.”
Pennsylvania’s Unclaimed Property Program safeguards billions of dollars in assets until they can be returned to their rightful owners or heirs. There is no cost to search for or claim unclaimed property.
Residents who believe they may have unclaimed property, or who simply wish to check, are encouraged to contact Pashinski’s Plains office at 570-301-6158 or email RepPashinski@pahouse.net for assistance.
“Our office is here to help,” Pashinski added. “If you receive a letter or email from us regarding unclaimed property, it is not a scam -- please know that we are reaching out because we believe you may have funds waiting to be claimed.”
