Legislative Roundtable at LCCC; and more

Dear Neighbor,

On Wednesday, I enjoyed attending the PA Chamber of Business and Industry’s Government Affairs Roundtable held at Luzerne County Community College (LCCC), where leaders from the legislature, business and education talked about the priorities and needs of our area. We discussed a wide range of topics, including workforce shortages, dual-enrollment funding, regional infrastructure investment, child care, natural gas development, education, and how to accelerate public-private partnerships for sustainable economic growth.

Northeast Pennsylvania legislators served on the panel: seated from left: Rep. Jamie Walsh, Rep. Alec Ryncavage, Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, Rep. Jim Haddock. Standing, from left: Luke Bernstein, President/CEO PA Chamber; Sen. Linda Schlegel Culver, Sen. Lisa Baker, John Yudichak, LCCC President; Rep. Dane Watro.

It was a privilege to be with so many leaders from across the region who are dedicated to strengthening economic opportunity and prosperity in NEPA and across our great commonwealth. Wednesday’s roundtable wasn’t just an opportunity to talk about what state government is doing to address various subjects, but to listen to area leaders’ priorities and concerns – and to work toward solutions that enhance Pennsylvania’s business climate, strengthen our education system, and generate family-sustaining jobs for our citizens.

I remain steadfast in my advocacy for the people and businesses who make Luzerne County and Northeastern Pennsylvania an attractive place to live, work, and enjoy a high quality of life. Thank you to the Chamber and LCCC for the opportunity to engage in this important discussion. I look forward to building on this week’s roundtable with my colleagues as we work together with the Chamber, LCCC, community leaders, and anyone working to improve life for everyone here in NEPA and across this wonderful commonwealth we call home.
