Dear Neighbor,

Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays. May you treasure this special time with your loved ones, and for those facing challenges, may you find comfort and support from family, friends, and neighbors.

As we approach the New Year, I wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026. May it bring you peace, hope, and many opportunities for growth. These are challenging times for many, but I remain hopeful that we can continue to support and appreciate one another and work together to make our community an even better place.

A very merry open house

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my open house last week! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, meet new friends, and share how I’ve been working on your behalf—from Delco to Harrisburg. I’m truly grateful for the support, conversations, and sense of community that make this work so meaningful.

Nearly $1.5 million in grants benefiting the 165th District

Advocating for Delaware County is one of my most important roles as your representative, and I’m pleased to share that nearly $1.5 million in state grants has been awarded for eight valuable local projects. These initiatives will improve street and sidewalk safety, strengthen infrastructure, and support ambulance services and recreational opportunities in our community.

Honoring Media Mayor Bob McMahon

Katherine and I were happy to brave the cold on Saturday to help thank Media Mayor Bob McMahon for all he’s done for our community. The motorcade down State Street was the perfect send-off for this longtime public servant!

Deadline approaching for property tax or rent rebates

Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program helps older neighbors and friends stay in their homes while covering life’s necessities—but the annual deadline is fast approaching. Applications must be filed by December 31. Eligible Pennsylvanians include those 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older, and people with disabilities 18 or older. Rebates range from $380 to $1,000.

DMVA: Make holiday donations to programs for veterans

The recent federal government shutdown was particularly hard on veterans who rely on programs such as SNAP. In Pennsylvania, there’s a way to donate during the holidays to support programs for the state’s nearly 700,000 veterans, service members and their families.

The state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs manages several programs for tax-deductible donations. Donations can be made by individuals, corporations and companies. When an online donation is made, donors may also choose to enter honoree information and a plaque in their honor will be displayed on the Virtual Donor Wall. To make a donation online or by mail, or to learn more about each one, go to www.donate.dmva.pa.gov.

My holiday office hours

For the holidays, my office will be closed December 24 through December 28. Next week, we will close at noon on December 31 and also be closed on January 1. My mobile office hours at the Springfield Library are canceled for December 30 and will resume as normal on January 6.
