Jeanne McNeill is alerting local veterans that her monthly veterans support program will be held on Dec. 19 at her district office, 1080 Schadt Ave., Whitehall. “There are many programs and services our veterans are entitled to for their service to our country, but many do not know about them,” said McNeill, D-Lehigh. “This is a great opportunity for veterans to meet with our outreach specialist and learn about them and receive assistance in the application process. I am pleased to be able to offer this outreach every month and encourage anyone who served to schedule an appointment to have their questions answered.” According to McNeill, a representative from the American Legion Service Office Outreach program will be in her office to provide information on education, health care and death benefits. Appointments with the outreach specialist are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the third Monday of each month. WHITEHALL, Nov. 1 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill today announced state funding totaling $1 million has been awarded to the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority for ongoing infrastructure upgrades at Lehigh Valley International Airport. “The airport is a huge economic engine for the greater Lehigh Valley as it brings tourists and business travelers alike to the region,” said McNeill, D-Lehigh. “I am pleased to see this funding approved which will be utilized to make the airport safer for passengers and motorists. My delegation colleagues and I know how important LVIA is to both our region and to Pennsylvania and I am proud to support this project.” According to McNeill, who is vice-chairwoman of the Northeast Delegation, the grant will be used by the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority for pavement removal, parking booth demolition, construction of new signalized intersection and access roadways, installation of new stormwater infrastructure to satisfy the latest DEP requirements and the installation of new wayfinding and traffic control signage with high mast LED lighting to ensure nighttime safety and visibility. HARRISBURG, Oct. 26 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill today announced state funding totaling $1.5 million has been awarded to the Bethlehem Area School District. “Education is the pathway to success for our children and they deserve to have the proper facilities for their learning environments,” said McNeill, D-Lehigh. “I am pleased to see this funding create a state-of-the-art facility that can be used by school children and teachers during the school year and by community organizations on evenings and weekends.” According to McNeill, the grant will be used by the school district to replace existing infrastructure at Fountain Hill Elementary School, including all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, which are 80 years old and past the end of their useful life; along with upgrading and repairing the building envelope, which will significantly increase energy efficiency. The classroom reconstruction will be able to accommodate 21st-century learning and eliminate the open concept classrooms. Additional security improvements include an expanded administration offices area with secure entry and cafeteria relocation. The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. Jeanne McNeill announced today that ArtsQuest has been awarded $46,956 in state funding for its security and staff. “Our community is truly blessed to have an organization like ArtsQuest providing cultural and entertainment experiences throughout the year,” said McNeill, D-Lehigh. “I am pleased to see this funding secured to ensure everyone from the visitors to the performers to the staff are safe at these events.” According to McNeill, ArtsQuest will use the funding for two-way radios and related communications equipment for its security officers.
