CORAPOLIS, OCT. 27 – State Representative Anita Astorino Kulik, D-Allegheny, announced today she will retire from office, but will continue to faithfully serve the people of the 45th Legislative District until the end of the current legislative term on Nov. 30, 2026.
Kulik opened her announcement by stating that “Working for the people of Pennsylvania, especially those in the member communities of the 45th District, has been the honor of my life. It has been the greatest privilege to serve the people of Collier, Kennedy, Neville, Robinson, Stowe, Bridgeville, Carnegie, Coraopolis, McKees Rocks, and Pennsbury Village. Earlier on I also had the privilege to serve the people of Scott, Rosslyn Farms, and the four North boroughs.”
Kulik said that “Being able to serve in the areas where I grew up and spent my life made my terms in office so very special. The people and communities are amazing, and it was truly a privilege to be able to serve and represent them.
“My decision to retire from public service next year did not come lightly and came after long thought and discussions with my family and staff. I cannot say enough about my wonderful district office staff and Harrisburg Staff, and I am so very grateful that they will be staying with me to finish our term in 2026,” Kulik said.
“I believe completely in representative government and, with that, I believe that those fortunate enough to be elected to office must understand that, after a certain period of time, new people should be encouraged to run and take their turn to serve.” Kulik continued.
Kulik stated that “I am proud of what has been accomplished in my years of service for the people of our district and the Commonwealth. I am especially proud of what has been accomplished for the outdoor sports women and men, as I was chosen to serve as chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee.”
Kulik concluded her comments by stating: “I look forward to serving the people in 2026 and all the wonderful things that are coming up in the next year for our region and Commonwealth.”
Kulik was first elected in 2016 and serves as majority chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee. She has served on various House committees during her years of service. She previously served for 13 years as a commissioner in Kennedy Township.
