VISIT TO THE PA FARM SHOW

I traveled to Harrisburg last week and had the opportunity to attend the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Chairing the Game and Fisheries Committee has given me the opportunity to work closely with farmers on issues such as crop damage by wildlife. It was also nice to run into some colleagues at the AmericaPA250 display at the show as Pennsylvania prepares to celebrate our nation's birthday.

While in Harrisburg, I also met with the directors and staff of the Game and Fish and Boat commissions to discuss legislative priorities for the upcoming year.

PA WORKERS DESERVE A RAISE!

Pennsylvania workers are getting left behind.

While New York, New Jersey, and multiple other states are raising their minimum wages, Pennsylvania remains stuck at $7.25. Hard work should cover the basics—food, utilities, and a safe place to live. It shouldn't mean losing ground every payday.

House Democrats passed a bill in June to raise the wage to $12 by 2028. The Senate has refused to act.

Enough is enough. Our neighboring states are leaving the commonwealth in the dust. Tell the Senate that it’s time that Pennsylvania raises the minimum wage.

PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE PROGRAM NOW OPEN

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is now accepting applications.

If you're an older adult or have a disability (age 18+), you may qualify for up to $1,000 in rebates on property taxes or rent you paid in 2025.

The deadline to apply is June 30, 2026.

For more information on the Property/Tax Rebate Program, please visit the Department of Revenue website here.

FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

I want to share an opportunity for Pennsylvania undergrad, graduate and law school students. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives Legislative Fellowship Program is now accepting applications for the Summer 2026 semester.

Based in Pennsylvania's Capitol Building in Harrisburg, the program places students in House standing committees or House leadership offices. Fellows are provided opportunities to draft and present their own legislation, meet public officials and staff, and tour some of the commonwealth’s historic public sites. The Summer Semester runs from June 4 to August 6, 2026.

Applications are due by Monday, March 2. Click here to learn more about the program and apply.
