PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE DEADLINE APPROACHING

The December 31 deadline to apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is fast approaching.

 

You may be eligible for a PTRR rebate of up to $1,000 if you:

  • Were 65 or older as of December 31, 2024
  • Were age 50+ and a widow or widower during all or part of 2024
  • Were age 18+ and were permanently disabled during all or part of 2024
  • During 2024, had a total annual household income of $46,520 or less

2026 FISHING LICENSES AVAILABLE NOW!

As the majority chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee, I wanted to share that 2026 Pennsylvania fishing licenses and launch permits are available now!

Visit www.HuntFish.PA.gov to purchase a license, permit or gift voucher. Purchases made in December are valid immediately for up to 13 months!

 

Important dates for the 2026 fishing season:

  • March 28, 2026 – Statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day
  • April 4, 2026 – Statewide Opening Day of Trout Season
  • November 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026 – Mandatory Life Jacket Requirement in effect

AMERICA250PA SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

To commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and honor Pennsylvania’s strong commitment to education, America250PA will award $250,000 in scholarships to deserving Pennsylvania students attending in-state colleges next school year.

 

Any Pennsylvania high school senior planning to attend a college or university in Pennsylvania for the 2026–27 academic year is eligible to apply. Twenty-five scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded.

 

Applications are due Jan. 31, 2026. More details, including matching opportunities from partner institutions, can be found here.
