Krueger, Kearney to host Aug. 25 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Clinic
Rep. Leanne Krueger August 18, 2025 | 2:37 PM
BROOKHAVEN, Aug. 18 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger and state Sen. Tim Kearney are inviting residents to a free clinic on the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.
The clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at the Ridley Township Public Library, 100 E. MacDade Blvd., Folsom. Registration is required to obtain a time slot for application assistance by calling Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880 or by emailing RepKrueger@pahouse.net.
“My office helps hundreds of people apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate each year, and I encourage all eligible residents to apply if they have not done so already,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “I’m glad to be able to hold this event and hopefully make the process easier for residents. Plus, eligible property owners living in Ridley Township qualify for an extra rebate.”
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older and people with disabilities 18 or older. The income limit is $46,520 a year for homeowners and renters, and half of applicants’ Social Security and/or Railroad Retirement income is excluded. Spouses, personal representatives or estates may also file rebate claims on behalf of claimants who lived at least one day in 2024 and meet all other eligibility criteria. Rebates are as high as $1,000.
An extra benefit is that Ridley Township offers a partial refund of their rubbish and/or sewer fees up to $200 to homeowners who qualify for the Pennsylvania Property Tax Rebate (PA-1000) and have paid their 2025 real estate tax bill. Those who have received their rebate check or direct deposit and have paid their 2025 real estate tax bill qualify for the additional rebate. When one receives their PA-1000 rebate check or notice of direct deposit, they should bring it to the township Treasurer/Tax Collector's Office at the Municipal Building and complete the necessary refund form.
“The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is a vital resource, especially now, as rising costs, including energy bills, continue to strain household budgets. I’m sure any financial relief that helps our eligible seniors and constituents with disabilities is both welcomed and needed,” said Kearney. “I’ve been proud to host several events across Delaware County this year alone, and I’m glad to once again partner with Representative Krueger to ensure more neighbors can access the support they deserve.”
"Since 2006, thousands of Ridley Township senior citizens and neighbors received more money back in their pockets thanks to these state and local programs," said Bob Willert, president of the township’s Board of Commissioners. "Both rebates help eligible families make ends meet, many of them on fixed incomes. It is also an indirect investment in local businesses, allowing families to spend more on other necessities. As the first rebate checks of the year are sent out, I encourage all eligible residents to apply if they haven't done so already."
Those intending to apply for the rebate at the clinic should bring the following documents, which will make it easier to complete the application:
- A driver’s license or photo ID for identification.
- Proof of all 2024 income.
- Stamped proof of 2024 property taxes paid for homeowners or a completed Pennsylvania Rent Certificate for renters.
- Direct deposit information if that’s the preferred way to receive the rebate.
The deadline to apply for a rebate for property taxes or rent paid under the program is Dec. 31. Questions about the event can be directed to Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880 or Kearney’s office at 610-590-8581.
