Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta May 5, 2025 | 1:07 PM
State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta released the following statement after a student from Temple University, his alma mater, was placed on interim suspension from the university over an antisemitic incident at Barstool Sports Bar in Center City on Saturday:
“As the state representative for Temple University and the surrounding community, I am horrified and outraged by the alleged antisemitic attack tied to a student.
“Temple sits in the heart of a diverse and vibrant district — and there’s no place here for hate of any kind. This incident is not just a violation of community standards; it’s an affront to our shared humanity.
“Antisemitism, like all bigotry, fuels violence and division. We cannot let it fester. We must call it out, confront it head-on, and work to build a city — and a campus — where every person is safe, valued and respected.”
