Pa. state Rep. Mary Isaacson has advocated for the importance of child lead testing since taking office and her efforts were finally realized. The Child Lead Testing Act provides for blood lead assessment and testing of children up to six years of age and pregnant women. Isaacson says though this is a major step toward keeping kids safe, there is still much work to be done on the issue of lead poisoning and infrastructure.
