Last Friday, after our very busy week in Harrisburg, I was happy to be back in Philadelphia to sponsor my very successful Senior Fair. It was so much fun to be back in the district and to touch base with constituents. Being able to bring so many resources to community members where they live and to give them access to their government is a cornerstone of public service.
|
It has also been great walking around the district this week and seeing the Halloween spirit all over. I will be at the Mummers Museum on Saturday for my Shredding and Electronic Recycling event. My office will be partnering with The Wardrobe to recycle your lightly used business clothes. Come see us and responsibly get rid of papers, electronics and clothes! Dress up in your Halloween costumes and pick up some candy from the Mummers hosting a Trunk or Treat Halloween party.

My Senior Fair a huge success!
|
Thank you to all who participated in my Senior Fair this past Friday. We had a great turnout, and the seniors were able to pick up vital information about city and state government services. Thank you to Holy Name Church, Philadelphia Action Center, city departments, and Maggie O’Brien for hosting this event alongside me.

50th Anniversary of the Children's Village
|
Congratulations to the Children’s Village for reaching 50 years serving as a model of high-quality early childhood education programming, including being one of Philadelphia’s first early childcare and education programs to earn accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Children’s Village has made a commitment to serving the needs of working families in Philadelphia by expanding its program capacity to serve more than 400 students, and I was happy to present them with a citation from the PA House of Representatives to celebrate this accomplishment.

Election Day is almost here!
|
This coming Tuesday marks the 2026 General Election, and there’s still time to make your plan to vote.
You can use the City of Philadelphia’s Atlas tool to find information on your nearest polling place, including accessibility and parking information, as well as a preview of your upcoming election ballot. The city’s website also has a tool to find local mail-in ballot return locations.
Voting is one of our great civic duties, so make your voice heard!

PennDOT On-the-Job Training Program
|
This week, PennDOT announced that its On-the-Job Training Program has continued to expand, with 168 active trainees in the program so far in 2026. The program has been bolstered in recent years via the Commonwealth Workforce Transformation Program, expanding support service for on-the-job trainees and providing a first-in-the-nation workforce development program. I commend PennDOT for continuing to build the skilled workforce we rely on every day.
