Isaacson: Over $130,000 secured for Orkney Park land acquisition

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 7 – Today, state Rep. Mary Isaacson announced that $132,500 in Community Conservation Partnerships Program grant funding will go toward land acquisition for Philadelphia’s Orkney Park.

The funding from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources program is part of a statewide effort to support recreational improvements, natural resource conservation and community revitalization efforts. Isaacson worked along with Sen. Nikil Saval, D-Phila., to secure the state funding.

“Local parks are an amazing asset to my district and improve the quality of life for all Philadelphians,” Isaacson said. “I appreciate the commonwealth’s support for Orkney Park, as this funding will help keep the park a valued community space for decades to come.”
