Isaacson secures over $3 million for local projects

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 15 – Today, state Rep. Mary Isaacson announced that $3,063,385 in funding from the Department of Community & Economic Development’s Local Share Account will go toward projects in her district.

A total of seven projects across the district will be either fully or partially funded through the LSA program, which is provided by the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

Allocations from the LSA program are:

  • $920,664 for the purchase of essential lighting and stage equipment by the Pennsylvania Ballet Association.
  • $750,000 to expand Folk Arts Cultural Treasures Charter School.
  • $398,136 for the purchase of cable barriers in key event areas of Old City and Fishtown to support annual programming and future neighborhood activities.
  • $370,265 to replace the HVAC system at the FringeArts Center on Columbus Avenue.
  • $250,000 for the Walnut Street Theatre Roof Project.
  • $194,370 to repair the roof of the Arch Street Meeting House.
  • $179,950 for facility upgrades at the National Liberty Museum.

“From artist collectives like the Ballet Association taking the global stage, to locations highlighting our historical significance, these organizations and venues are what makes this city one of a kind,” Isaacson said. “I appreciate the commonwealth’s efforts to maintain Philadelphia’s status as an arts, education and culture hub.”
