McCandless Police Department to receive $50,000 grant

MCCANDLESS, Feb. 15 – Today, Rep. Arvind Venkat, D-Allegheny, announced that the Department of Community and Economic Development will award a $50,000 grant to the McCandless Police Department, which will assist police officers with keeping the community safe.

The funding will provide cameras to read license plates.

“Through this funding, we will have the opportunity to keep McCandless’ roads safer by equipping the McCandless Police Department and its officers with cameras to read license plates,” Venkat said. “This will ensure that our police officers have the most up to date equipment while patrolling the community.”

As state representative for the 30th Legislative District, Venkat said he continues to advocate for grants that make communities in the district safer.
