Harris selected for prestigious Council of State Governments 20 Under 40 Leadership Award

HARRISBURG, Oct. 5 – Calling it a humbling honor, state Rep. Jordan Harris, D-Phila. and House Democratic whip, announced today that he has been selected to receive the Council of State Governments’ 20 Under 40 Leadership Award.

“My ultimate goal is to improve the lives of those in my community who send me to Harrisburg to be their voice and serve them as best as I can,” Harris said. “I believe I can use this recognition to learn, grow and become an even better public servant. I’m truly appreciative to the Council of State Governments for this honor and opportunity.”

The 20 Under 40 Leadership Award recognizes the outstanding work of 20 up-and-coming elected and appointed officials from across the country who not only exemplify strong leadership skills but have also demonstrated a true commitment to serving the citizens of their states. The awardees are selected from a competitive pool of applicants from across the country and all three branches of government.
