DON'T PRICE OUT HOMEOWNERS; SUPPORT FAIR RENT IN MANUFACTURED HOME COMMUNITIES

House Bill 1250 would protect manufactured homeowners from continuous rent spikes that have priced too many out of their home. This bill strives to create a fairer system – one that respects the rights of property owners while also recognizing the fundamental need for housing security. Tell your elected officials that you support this bill and it deserves to be brought to a full vote.

Don't let investors price out manufactured homeowners

Email Body:

Protecting affordable homeownership in Pennsylvania demands the passage of House Bill 1250, a bill that will stabilize housing for residents of manufactured home communities.

Unlike traditional homeowners, those living in manufactured homes typically own their home, but not the land beneath it. This unique situation creates an opportunity for financial exploitation. Private investors will often purchase the land these communities occupy and then drastically increase the lot rents year after year. This practice forces residents – largely seniors, people with disabilities and first-time homebuyers – out of their homes, undermining the very affordability that made manufactured housing an attractive option in the first place.

House Bill 1250 offers a much-needed solution by working to stabilize these rent prices and provide stronger protections for the residents of manufactured home communities. This bill strives to create a fairer system – one that respects the rights of property owners while also recognizing the fundamental need for housing security.

Every Pennsylvanian deserves a safe and affordable place to live. I strongly urge you to vote YES on House Bill 1250 and NO on both amendments.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this important matter. I appreciate your help and ask that you please send me a response letting me know if you will support this bill.

Sincerely,
