Changes to Pennie This Open Enrollment Period
Pennie enrollees may have received or will soon receive a mailer alerting them that they could end up paying more or full price for their health plan beginning in 2026.
As a result of the recently passed federal government budget bill, the enhanced premium tax credits offered that helped make health insurance cheaper for Pennie enrollees are set to expire at the end of 2025.
Keep an eye out for and read all information you receive from Pennie and/or your health insurance company. You'll learn more about these potential impacts as 2026 Open Enrollment (starting Nov. 1, 2025) approaches.
To learn more and calculate your estimated 2026 monthly payments, visit www.pennie.com/costs.

PA Historical Marker Program Launches Interpretive “Trails” to Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission administers a program of historical markers to capture the stories of people, places, events, and innovations that have affected the lives of Pennsylvanians over the centuries.
The Historical Marker Program encourages a public-driven program accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities. The public can nominate subjects, report missing or damaged markers, and request revisions to outdated or inaccurate markers. The program also establishes authentic connections with Pennsylvania’s native ancestral tribes and increases markers in underrepresented histories and geographies.
In celebration of the nation’s 250th Birthday in 2026, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission has created themed Marker Trails that explore key places, people, moments, and movements in Pennsylvania’s past. A new trail will be released every three months throughout 2026 to continue the recognition of Pennsylvania’s place in the history of the nation.

Agrivoltaics Test Site Tour
Last week, I joined Rep. Chris Rabb and Rep. Melissa Cerrato as well as PennEnvironment to tour an Agrivoltaic test site at Temple-Ambler campus.
Agrivoltaics, which combines solar power production with agriculture, is more than the sum of its parts. It can enhance farm performance and resilience, provide additional income for landowners and partners, boost power production, and preserve the landscape and communities.
We toured the innovative garden/solar array and learned about the benefits of bringing them together.
Thank you for such an informative tour and for continuing research on such an important topic.
