Flat Nancy Travels to Iceland

Flat Nancy recently traveled to Iceland with District Office Director Megan, where she saw glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, mountains, and puffins! She soaked in hot springs, explored caves, went whale watching, and even conquered an ice cave. Flat Nancy walked across black sand beaches, hiked a volcano, and marveled at the “elephant” rock on Westman Islands. She also took a boat tour through a glacier lagoon and saw a full arch rainbow. While Flat Nancy is sad to have left Iceland, she’s excited for her next big adventure!

New Website Launches Detailing Changes to SNAP Work and Reporting Requirements

Last week, the Shapiro Administration launched dhs.pa.gov/work, a new website detailing upcoming changes to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) work and reporting requirements. Beginning September 1st, certain SNAP recipients will need to report work, education, training, or volunteer hours to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) to maintain benefits. These requirements will expand throughout Fall 2025.

The website provides details on who is affected, how to meet the work and reporting requirements, and which SNAP recipients may qualify for an exemption and how to obtain one.

Individuals impacted by the September 1st, 2025, changes should have received a letter from DHS in early August.

Tour at ZeroEyes, Inc.

I was invited to attend a tour at ZeroEyes, Inc. which is a company based in Conshohocken, PA that uses AI to detect weapons and works with existing digital security cameras to stop mass shootings and gun-related violence.

Founded by a team of Navy SEALs and elite technologists, they use AI to actively detect brandished firearms within view of any camera equipped with their software. With the incredibly fast gun detection and police notification, their technology can decrease response time, which will ultimately save lives.

In this day and age when mass shootings have unfortunately become more prevalent, this software can be a game changer in keeping people safe and saving lives. I appreciated the chance to learn more about what their software can offer and hope that others utilize this software to help keep the lives of those in our communities safe.

Honeywell recently acquired CAES and with this acquisition, they are seeking to fill 100+ jobs at the Lansdale site. This is a great boost for our community and will provide a great opportunity for jobseekers.

Fall Shredding Event

Join us for our free shredding event, THIS SATURDAY — a fantastic opportunity to protect your personal information while making a positive impact on your community!

Safely dispose of old documents and keep your sensitive information out of the wrong hands. Paper shredding is a powerful deterrent to identity theft, making it nearly impossible for thieves to reconstruct private details. Plus, shredding supports paper recycling, helping to reduce waste in landfills!

And here’s another way to give back — bring non-perishable food items for donation and support local food banks while you’re there.

We’re thrilled to offer this service once again for our constituents. Protect your identity, reduce waste, and help your community — all in one event!
