SEPTA Reduced Schedule Set to Start August 24th
While the Pennsylvania House sent the Pennsylvania Senate a budget in June that would fund public transportation throughout PA, the Senate has yet to send anything back to the House to work with and finalize. With no budget or proposed funding, SEPTA must prepare their service and their riders for the impact of possible service cuts. These service cuts would begin on Sunday, August 24th. Due to the time it takes to schedule SEPTA workers, position equipment, and inform customers, SEPTA will need to move forward with the service cuts if a budget solution is not in place by mid-August.
It's time that the PA Senate does its job and passes a budget that includes integral funding for the 6th largest transit system in the US.
Click the following link for details on how these funding cuts will affect the lines in our district.

Stay tuned for more information on SEPTA funding and links to which service cuts will be made if no budget is reached.
Local Community Cupboard Holds Grand Re-Opening
Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler has been serving our communities for the past 52 years. They recently opened a Full Choice Food Pantry which allows residents to come and shop just as if they were at a local grocery store. They also moved their clothing boutique next door to offer a one-stop shop for clothing and food.
I was honored to be able to attend the Grand Re-Opening of the Cupboard last Thursday. Many thanks to those who run this pantry and volunteer here. The work they do and the dignity and respect they give those in need is essential for all members of our community to feel supported and to thrive. Thank you for your continued efforts to make our community a better place!
Visit With Our House-Adopted Cow – Mootilda!
On Friday, I was fortunate enough to visit with the chamber’s adopted dairy cow, Mootilda. She resides at Kurtland Farm in Elverson, PA. The House adopted her in October of 2024, and we have watched her grow on the farm – from newborn to now!
We learned all about Mootilda’s birth, the milking process, health and protection of the dairy cows, and their diet and exercise. We were able to track Mootilda’s growth from birth to 6 months – seeing pictures of her at every stage. Kurtland Farms is one of many dairy farms across the Commonwealth, and we appreciate the opportunity to learn not only about the cows, but also how dairy farms run and their importance to the state.
Fall Shredding Event
Join us for our free shredding event—a fantastic opportunity to protect your personal information while making a positive impact on your community!
Safely dispose of old documents and keep your sensitive information out of the wrong hands. Paper shredding is a powerful deterrent to identity theft, making it nearly impossible for thieves to reconstruct private details. Plus, shredding supports paper recycling, helping to reduce waste in landfills!
And here’s another way to give back—bring non-perishable food items for donation and support local food banks while you’re there.
We’re thrilled to offer this service once again for our constituents. Protect your identity, reduce waste, and help your community—all in one event!
