Rent Stabilization Bill Introduced

Along with Rep. Jim Prokopiak, I am proud to be a co-prime sponsor on House Bill 914, which seeks to establish limits on how much a landlord can raise rent and align increases with inflation and wage growth. This would help keep housing affordable for Pennsylvanians. As we are all aware, affordable housing is a crisis across the Commonwealth, and this legislation would be a step forward in providing relief to both renters and prospective homebuyers.

Pennsylvania Money Match Returns Unclaimed Property
to Pennsylvania Residents

The Pennsylvania Treasury is advising residents to keep an eye on their mailboxes as they seek to return five billion dollars in unclaimed property.

This program, which was passed unanimously last session, automatically returns unclaimed property valued at up to $500 to a single individual.

This may appear too good to be true – receiving money in the mailbox – but this is not a scam. The PA Treasury just sent out another round of checks to more than 40,000 PA residents with unclaimed property being held in Harrisburg. If you received a check with a letter like the one in the picture below, it is legit - go ahead and cash it!
