Passing HB 1364 - Funding Mass Transit
|
Last week the House passed legislation to fund mass transit across the state of Pennsylvania.
Mass transit in Pennsylvania is facing a critical funding crisis that will have negative impacts in every region across our state. Without this necessary funding, hundreds of thousands of cars will be put on the road – disrupting your commute and creating safety hazards. Billions of dollars in economic impact will be lost, and many hard-working Pennsylvanians will be out of a job.
The House passed a plan that could fund transit without raising taxes - reallocating money from the general fund that will not take money away from any government operation.
Mass transit is not just a “city problem” - it affects everyone across the state – urban and rural. Even if you don’t ride or use mass transit, this funding affects you. It means more money in our communities, more people on the job, and safer communities across the Commonwealth.
My staffers and interns attended a SEPTA rally at the Lansdale Train Station hosted by Senator Maria Collett in efforts to get her fellow senators to vote YES! Please reach out to Senate leaders and tell them to vote YES to fund mass transit across Pennsylvania!

The residents of Moreland Towers, located in Hatboro, held their annual Art Show last Wednesday. My staffer, Gina, was able to attend and check out all the wonderful artwork created by Moreland Towers residents. It's so great to see the pride on the residents' faces when their artistic designs are on display. Thank you for inviting our office to be a part of your special day!
