A Busy Week in the District!
On Thursday, I attended the annual Crooked Billet Day celebration at Crooked Billet Elementary School in Hatboro. This is one of my favorite local events - to see all the children and staff dressed up in Revolutionary dress and remember the battle that took place on the very site of the school so many years ago. Thank you for including me in your yearly celebration.
I then headed to Elmwood Park Zoo and joined Rep. Jordan Harris, Rep. Matt Bradford, Rep. Greg Scott, Councilwoman Rebecca Smith, and Commissioner Jamila Winder to present a $250,000 state grant check which will support funding for admission for local residents. Any Montgomery County resident can visit the park for half price from now until the end of the year.
On Friday, we held our Joint Senior Fair with Rep. Ben Sanchez and Rep. Melissa Cerrato. Over 40 vendors were there to give senior-related information to 200+ attendees. It was a fun and informational event, and we were happy to see such a positive turnout.
On Sunday, I attended the Freedom Steps 5K at Masons Mill Park. Freedom Steps focuses on the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. All of the money raised through the race is used to purchase supplies and cover shipping costs for our deployed troops. The organization also supports veterans once they return home by offering community support. Thanks to those who organize and run this important event every year!
We also helped welcome Pet Doc Urgent Care – a new, state-of-the-art facility committed to handling your pet’s sudden illness, injury, or urgent health concerns - to Willow Grove at the Grand Opening of its store. This is an exciting new business, and we wish them the best as they open their doors in our community.
