Wednesday was a busy day in Harrisburg!
Autism Acceptance Month celebrates and honors the experiences and identities of Autistic individuals. Acceptance means ensuring that workplaces, schools, and public spaces are truly inclusive. It means advocating for policies that provide equitable access to services and support. It means amplifying autistic voices and experiences.
At the Capitol, I was able to join a rally to show my support for Autism Acceptance. I stand behind inclusion, support, and acceptance of these amazing individuals.

I also attended the 2025 Civic Commemoration of the Holocaust, hosted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition. We heard remarks from several House and Senate members as well as Governor Shapiro. Second, third, and fourth generation Holocaust survivors were recognized and honored and there was a poetry reading and music performed. It was a solemn tribute to those who did not survive the horrific events of the Holocaust and served as a reminder that we should never allow history to repeat itself. There is no place for hate and antisemitism in Montgomery County, in the Commonwealth, or anywhere in the world.
|
I also attended a press conference to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Governor Milton J. Shapp's executive order protecting state employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation. This was the first such protection in the nation. It was an honor to join fellow lawmakers on commemorating this landmark executive order.

Abington Township Receives Funding for Bridge Replacement Project
|
At a press event last Tuesday, PennDOT highlighted several of the 74 projects expected to begin construction this year. These investments support Governor Shapiro’s vision of a safe and reliable transportation network that connects people to opportunity and each other.
One of these projects is in Abington Township and Jenkintown Borough, which will replace the Route 611 (Old York Road) bridge at the SEPTA Noble Station and improve pedestrian access.
This dedication to improving roadways and infrastructure across the state is critical to the Commonwealth’s progress and will continue to spur economic growth and create real opportunity for residents and businesses.
