Rep. Dan Goughnour's Biography

Dan Goughnour was elected to the House in 2025 to represent the 35th Legislative District in Allegheny County.

He has spent his life serving his community in McKeesport and is a graduate of the McKeesport School District and the Allegheny County Police Academy.

Prior to being elected, Goughnour served on the McKeesport Police Department for over 16 years, most recently as Captain of Police Detectives. He also served on the school board for the McKeesport Area School District and is a member of Teamsters Local 205.

Goughnour's legislative priorities include fighting to strengthen public safety measures and increase its funding, boosting job training programs to provide more opportunities to residents, continuing to support public schools, and working to reduce the cost of everyday essentials for families.

He and his wife Lauren live in McKeesport with their three children, who all attend McKeesport public schools.
