Free Tax Preparation Services Available

Tax season is here, and there are free tax preparation services available to help you. Below are two convenient options for Bristol-Levittown area residents:

1. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

  • Dates & Times: February 1st - April 15th, Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-noon
  • Location: Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Rd., Bristol, PA 19007
  • Appointment Required: Yes
  • Details: Please call the Senior Center to schedule your appointment. You must bring your prior year’s tax return and a check for direct deposit or payment. Appointments can take up to three hours to complete.

2. Bucks County Opportunity Council Tax Prep Services

  • Eligibility: 2024 income of $67,000 or less and a Bucks County resident.
  • Locations:
    • Bristol: Bucks County Opportunity Council, 721 Veterans Highway (Tuesdays & Saturdays)
    • Bristol - Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks: 1304 Veterans Highway (Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays)
  • Service Type: Free tax preparation by certified volunteers.
  • Appointment Required: Yes, no walk-ins.
  • To Request an Appointment: Visit BCOC Tax Assistance. Complete the online form, and you will be contacted to schedule your appointment.
 

 

Go Fish

Spring is just around the corner, and a sure sign of its arrival is the release of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's 2025 trout stocking schedule.

Some key dates:

  • Levittown Lake will be stocked on March 27, April 9, May 2 and Oct. 10.
  • Saturday, March 29 marks the statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day.
  • Saturday, April 5 kicks off the statewide Opening Day of Trout Season.
  • Sunday, May 25 and Friday, July 4 are Fish for Free Days.

Love Your Heart Fair

Friday, Feb. 28, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Take part in the Love Your Heart Fair, where you’ll find exhibitors dedicated to helping you manage your heart health. Enjoy free health screenings, light refreshments, and resources to help keep your heart healthy for years to come.

 

Fraud Bingo Event

Thursday, March 6, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Join me, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, the Bucks County Department of Consumer Protection, and local police for an informative and fun Fraud Bingo event.

 

This event offers a unique, interactive way to learn how to protect yourself from scams. It’s both educational and engaging, and I know you’ll leave with helpful tips to safeguard yourself against fraud.

 

Help picking a Medicare Advantage plan

Medicare Advantage’s open enrollment period runs through March 31, and eligible Pennsylvanians can take advantage of the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (formerly APPRISE).

 

MEDI is a free program run by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging that helps older Pennsylvanians choose a plan based on their income and medical needs.

 

MEDI counselors from Bucks County Area Agency on Aging will be in my Levittown office every Tuesday through the end of open enrollment. Please call (267) 880-5700 Prompt #5 to schedule an appointment.
