There is still one more day to attend - tomorrow, Saturday, January 17 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.The Farm Show has so many incredible opportunities to learn about Pennsylvania's farm industry, cuddle with some animals, and have amazing farm fresh food. You can learn more here.

Supporting Our Local Youth Sports

Bringing funding back to our community is one of my top priorities, and it was an honor to present a check to Latin Fusion Baseball to celebrate the $60,000 in grant funding they received!

This funding will invest into the children who are the future of our community. It will help Latin Fusion Baseball's operations and provide for new opportunities for players - such as playing in Puerto Rico, bringing in college scouts to watch games, and expanding their programs to include softball.

You can learn more about the event and Latin Fusion Baseball's work here.

A Day at Opportunity House

My staff and I took part in a day of giving as we teamed up with the Community Group at Opportunity House in Reading to prepare delicious lunches for our neighbors. Opportunity House does so much incredible work from helping people find housing to taking up childcare while parents go to work, and it was very special to be a part of that work.

Recognizing our Local Media

This year marks 50 years of Berks Community Television serving our community. It was an honor to present a House citation to Executive Director Heather Adams to recognize the outstanding work that BCTV has done as they reach this incredible milestone!

Property Tax Support Event

Did you know there are programs available to help reduce your property taxes or provide a rebate on rent or property taxes you’ve already paid?

The “PA Homestead Exclusion Program” helps homeowners save on property taxes by reducing the assessed value of their primary residence before school taxes are calculated. The “PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program” offers rebates to eligible older adults and individuals with disabilities.

My staff will hold a FREE event on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Reading Public Library (100 S. Fifth Street) to help you learn more about these programs and process your applications.

Black Health Matters Community Conversations

Black communities continue to face persistent health disparities rooted in systemic inequities. This Black Health Matters Community Conversation will bring neighbors together to discuss real solutions to improve Black health outcomes in our district and across Pennsylvania.
