Happy Thanksgiving from my office to you and your family!

During this time, we as a community rely on one another to support where most needed. My office alongside colleagues and community leaders had a very successful resource event where over 1,200 families were served and supported this season.

This season I am thankful for each community member who has helped support a neighbor, each organization who has helped lift the spirits of the community, each volunteer who helped make our district a little stronger… TOGETHER! I am thankful for each of you in Germantown, West Oak Lane, Logan and across the city. Each of you make my days a little brighter and I look forward to continuing to serve this district in a way we can feel the difference.

May your holiday be restful, and time spent with family and friends be meaningful!

Rep. Andre D. Carroll

The Department of Commerce’s Coffee and Commerce event

On November 14th, I spoke at The Department of Commerce’s Coffee and Commerce event. This is an event where local business owners can learn about different topics and find ways that organizations and state resources can help.  I was so happy to kick the meeting off and offer my offices’ support with any local business needs. Thank you, Department of Commerce, for inciting me to this informative discussion.

Philadelphia’s Association of Black Journalists Awards Gala

On Nov. 15th, I attended Philadelphia’s Association of Black Journalists Awards Gala. It was great to see all of the innovative journalists and media professionals be awarded for their hard work over the years. Thank you, PABJ President Owens for inviting me out to this wonderful event. It was truly an amazing time!

Opening Prayer

On October 19th, I had the opportunity to lead the House session in prayer. Thank you, Madam Speaker McClinton, for giving me this opportunity! Being able to do this warmed my heart, and I hope my colleagues felt the same!

Four Freedoms Senior Homes Community Thanksgiving Dinner

On Nov. 22nd, I visited the Four Freedoms Senior Homes Community Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the 59th Ward Leadership Committee! Thank you, Four Freedoms, and the 59th Ward for inviting me out to talk and enjoy this lovely meal with you all. I can’t wait to visit again and continue to connect with the community.

Thanksgiving Holiday Food Resource Fair

On Nov. 22nd, Councilman Isaiah Thomas, Councilman Anthony Phillips and I held a Thanksgiving Holiday Food Resource Fair. I want to thank Caring for Friends, all of our sponsors (listed above), and volunteers for helping us feed over 1,200 families. I couldn’t hold back my excitement and joy I had bringing this to my community in a time of need. Thank you, Pastor Nick Christian, for allowing us to have this event at Phillipians Baptist Church, and thank you, again, to Councilman Thomas for leading the charge and making this happen. I’m excited to keep hosting joyful events like this and continue working to close the gaps in our community.

Project CDC’s Thanksgiving Dinner event

On Nov. 22, I visited Restriction Project CDC’s Thanksgiving Dinner event. It was great to connect with members of the community and see some of their volunteers from La Salle University. The dinner was very tasty, and my favorite part was – of course – the sweet treats! Keep up the good work, and I hope to be of service in any way possible.

35th Police District Clergy Hot Turkey Meal event

On Nov. 22nd, I went to the 35th Police District Clergy Hot Turkey Meal event. Many of our neighbors got themselves an early Thanksgiving meal. Thank you, 35th Police District, for showing up and helping the community. I’m happy to have a police presence in our district that our neighbors can count on! Continue to protect and fill the gaps of our community!

 UFCW Local 1776 Strike

On Nov. 24th, my colleagues and I stood with UFCW Local 1776 as they strike to get Amazon-Whole Foods to stop refusing to bargain and bust unions. Workers deserve fair pay, affordable health care, respect, and recognition of their union. We hope that standing with you all can help in guiding these two parties toward a successful contract.

Caring for Friends Food Distribution

On Nov. 24th, my team went to the Caring for Friends Food Distribution event, where they helped to pack hundreds of plates for families in need. It’s always great to give back in any way we can! Thank you for caring for our community and inviting my office to help do something special!
