Black Business Workshop Recap

Our Black Business workshop with Councilmember Isaiah Thomas was a great success. On May 28th, my office opened its doors to black business owners in my district to offer tools, tips and support. Thank you to everybody who came and participated. Look out for more events in the future so you can join us next time!

Youth Expo

Following the April 15, 2025, Safety Townhall, our community expressed a clear and urgent need for youth programming and employment opportunities to combat violence. When young people have access to safe spaces, mentors, and employment opportunities, they thrive.

In response, we are proud to announce the upcoming Youth Expo 2025, a dynamic event dedicated to youth engagement, empowerment, and creating a safer community for all.

Who Should Attend:

  • Eligible youth seeking to get their Working Papers
  • Parents and guardians looking to connect their children with resources.
  • Community members and organizations dedicated to youth development.

Resources and Programs

Keystone Saves

It is already difficult enough to figure out how to put food on the table in this economy and the last thing Pennsylvanians should be worrying about is how they can afford retirement – hardworking Pennsylvanians deserve more. Right now, more than TWO MILLION working Pennsylvanians don’t have any access to a retirement plan.

That’s why I voted to make sure retirees here in Philadelphia don’t have to scramble to find work to survive after dedicating their time and energy to the workforce for so long.

The Keystone Saves program gives workers the power they need and deserve to control their own future. We’re encouraging stable, long-term investments to prevent any seniors from having to be forced back to work.

You shouldn’t have to work until you die – and this bill ensures access to a retirement plan.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate EXTENSION

The application deadline for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2025.

Thanks to a historic expansion of the program passed by the General Assembly, more Pennsylvanians than ever -- including older adults, widows/widowers and people with disabilities -- are eligible for the rebates, with increased maximum payments of up to $1,000. In the last claim year, the program issued over 522,000 rebates totaling $319 million, including 106,000 first-time filers.

Filing is free, easy, and can be done online through myPATH. In-person help is also available at my district office and through PA Department of Revenue district offices and Area Agencies on Aging.
