NEWLY LISTED PROGRAMS Department of Conservation and Natural Resources: Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2) Who May Apply: County or Municipal Government, Higher Educational Institution, Other Educational Institution, Non-profit with 501(c)3 IRS Status and Non-profit with PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations Status. Use: Park rehabilitation and development, recreation and conservation planning, land acquisition and conservation, trail projects, river conservation and development, and community and watershed forestry. Funds: The total grant awards vary based on state and federal funding sources, with the program awarding approximately $50 million for projects each year. PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 14 — Following the murder of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, MN by an ICE agent, the shooting of two people by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Portland, OR, the death of Parady La after his detention at the federal center in Philadelphia all last week, and against the backdrop of a year of escalated violence, 18 state senators and state representatives serving legislative districts across Philadelphia have released the following statement: "Building a community of respect, care, and support is a sacred responsibility entrusted to each of us. For doing this vital work, on Wednesday, January 7, ICE agents in Minneapolis, MN murdered Renee Nicole Good—a mother, poet, and community member who was onsite to document ICE’s violence against her neighbors. This was immediately followed by another shooting by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Thursday, January 8, in Portland, OR. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz and Manuel Guzman , both D-Berks, and Danilo Burgos , D-Phila. -- all of whom are of Dominican ancestry -- have introduced legislation to designate Feb. 27, 2026, as “Dominican Republic Independence Day.” The legislation, H.R. 387 , seeks to honor the impact Dominicans have made as leaders around the world, including in the United States and the Dominican Republic. Burgos: Over $1 million secured for local community improvement projects

HARRISBURG, Dec. 18 – State Rep. Danilo Burgos announced today that over $1 million in new grant funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority is being awarded to several organizations in the House legislative district he serves. In the 197 th , Burgos supported state funding for the following organizations and projects: $195,000 to Lighthouse Inc. to support its Lighthouse Community Recreation Center. $250,000 to the Foreman Arts Initiative Inc. to complete recommended ADA accommodations. $447,204 to the Temple Health System Transport Team Inc. for the purchase and upfitting of an ambulance. “Lighthouse has been a beacon in our community for well over a century as they provide educational, recreational, cultural, social and economic improvement programs to families across the district,” said Burgos. “Modifying existing buildings to be accessible for all and providing quality care for those in need across the city are top priority.
