Bizzarro selected as 2025 Pennsylvania PBS Champion of Lifelong Learning

One of eight honorees to receive Good Neighbor Award

HARRISBURG, June 11 – Honoring his advocacy for public media and preserving children’s educational programming, state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie) received a Good Neighbor Award on Wednesday as one of the 2025 Pennsylvania PBS Champions of Lifelong Learning.

Bizzarro was one of eight honorees to be named a 2025 Pennsylvania PBS Champion of Lifelong Learning. PA PBS said Bizzarro is a true advocate who has made a difference in the commonwealth by working diligently to provide a wonderful quality of life for the constituents of his community.

“Children’s educational programming is as important today as it was when it first aired, and I applaud PBS stations across Pennsylvania for providing decades of engaging and informative television shows. They’ve been a true community asset and a staple on family televisions for years,” said Bizzarro. “I’m humbled to receive the Good Neighbor Award and will continue to support public broadcasting. It’s another great tool to help our kids enjoy learning.”

There are seven PBS stations located across Pennsylvania, including WQLN in Erie, which has been on the air for more than 50 years.
