LICENSE PLATE EVENT SEPT. 25

Next week, on Thursday, Sept. 25, we will be hosting our annual license plate replacement event.

We heard from many people about adjusting our time so people could attend after work. This year we are hosting it from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event is free, and most worn & damaged plates can be replaced at no cost. Please note, there is a fee if you want to replace a personalized plate with another personalized plate.

  • Police do the inspection of the old plate on-site.
  • You keep your old plate on your car and drive away, and we cut the red tape.
  • ?We mail the paperwork to Harrisburg.
  • ?We let you know when your new plate has arrived at our office.

Have questions? Contact us here

HELP REDUCE WAIT TIMES

If you plan to attend my license plate replacement event, you can help reduce wait times by downloading and filling out state form MV-46.

If you are unable to fill out this form ahead of time, we can still serve you, but you will need to fill it out during the event.

HUMBLED TO BE HONORED

I am beyond honored and humbled to be inducted into the 2025 Pennsylvania News Media Association Hall of Fame. Thank you to PNA, my colleagues, and the advocates for making this possible. Being recognized alongside so many trailblazers who have dedicated their lives to truth, integrity, and public service is truly inspiring. Here’s to carrying forward the mission of service, defending free and responsible speech, and preserving the integrity of an independent press.

$16,000 GRANT FOR LOCAL STUDENTS

Fly fishing involves understanding the world around us, from being able to identify the insects, baitfish and other prey that fish need to survive to reading water conditions to learning life cycles of fish and insects. Introducing students to fly fishing encourages young people to engage in the sciences.

A $16,000 state grant has been approved for the Regional Science Consortium to introduce up to 60 local kids to the sport of fly fishing. Read more here.

HONORING SEPTEMBER 11TH HEROES

On the evening of 9/11, we gathered with our community to honor the heroes of September 11th and the bravery of our first responders.

It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of times, unity and courage shine through. Grateful for the men and women who continue to serve and protect us every day.

POLICY COMMITTEE EXAMINES HEALTH CARE

The Policy Committee hosted three events this week, examining ways we can provide better services and care for people in need. Rep. Jennifer O’Mara has introduced legislation to align the state’s drug scheduling laws with FDA approval and DEA decisions, which could ultimately aid people experiencing treatment-resistant depression. Lawmakers heard directly from medical doctors during a hearing in Harrisburg on treatments that they have seen provide positive outcomes. Rep. Greg Scott hosted a roundtable and tour at Norristown State Hospital, one of only two forensic psychiatric hospitals in the state – to treat people who need mental health care and are also in the criminal justice system. Rep. Gina H. Curry hosted a hearing in the city of Chester on maternal and infant survival, exploring how the state can improve outcomes for expecting and new mothers.

As a member of the House Majority Leadership team, I serve as Chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee. We travel the state, exploring issues and talking to members of the community, workers, advocates and experts on a variety of topics. We examine issues to see if there is a legislative solution to improving lives across the commonwealth. We have hosted 39 hearings across 30 ZIP codes in 12 counties so far this year, and we expect to host 100+ hearings this session – which is our typical workload.

Up next: The committee is scheduled to travel to Hazelton in Luzerne County on Wednesday, and the committee will host a hearing at Rep. Joe Hohenstein’s Disability Summit 2025 at Temple University in Philadelphia on Thursday.
