Inglis celebrates $92,800 for Eagle’s Landing Riverfront Park project

State funding awarded for local park construction, regional forestry initiatives

BALDWIN, Oct. 8 – State Rep. John Inglis announced today a state grant of $92,800 was awarded to support ongoing construction of Eagle’s Landing Riverfront Park.

Inglis said the investment will help install a bike repair station, bike racks, landscaping and signage at the riverfront park.

“I am excited to see the state investing in a new park that will provide a new way for folks to enjoy the Monongahela River and local wildlife,” said Inglis, D-Allegheny. “Senator Pisciottano and I are committed to continuing to work together to secure investments like these to create more opportunities for outdoor recreation and environmental education for both local residents and visitors.”

Inglis said two additional grants were awarded in this round of funding to support regional forestry efforts:

  • $95,000 to Pittsburgh Conservation Corps to fund an urban wood reuse project and a community forestry workforce development program in Allegheny County.
  • $250,000 to Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for urban and community forestry initiatives including tree planting and building local tree stewardship capacity in Pittsburgh and throughout western Pennsylvania.

These grants were awarded through the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which seeks to connect Pennsylvanians with the outdoors by supporting recreational improvements, natural-resource conservation and community-revitalization efforts.
