Deasy applauds $1.8 million in state funding for traffic signal upgrades

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 30 – State Rep. Dan Deasy, D-Allegheny, announced today that more than $1.8 million in Green Light-Go Program funding will support traffic signal upgrades at intersections in Green Tree, Scott Township and Pittsburgh.

“Keeping traffic moving safely and efficiently is something people notice every day,” Deasy said. “These upgrades will help reduce congestion, improve safety for drivers and pedestrians, and make sure our infrastructure keeps up with the needs of our communities.”

The funding was awarded to the following projects:

  • $293,392 to Green Tree Borough to modernize signal equipment at Noblestown Road and Mansfield Avenue.
  • $42,400 to Green Tree Borough to update signal detectors at Carnahan Road and Greentree Road.
  • $145,192 to Scott Township to modernize the intersection of Hope Hollow Road and Greentree Road.
  • $1,394,029 to Pittsburgh to replace traffic signals at North Avenue and James Street, Lorenz Avenue and Steuben Street, and Mifflin Road and Interboro Avenue.

The Green Light-Go program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, aims to enhance mobility and improve the efficiency of Pennsylvania's traffic signal network through the allocation of state funds for traffic signal upgrades and replacements.
