Kulik announces $590,000 in state grants for water and sewer infrastructure

CORAOPOLIS, Nov. 18 – State Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny, announced today that four municipalities in the 45th Legislative District were awarded a combined $590,000 in grants from the Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund to upgrade water systems, improve sewage treatment and enhance flood control.

"I’m proud to help bring this critical funding to our communities," Kulik said. "These projects focus on the essentials our neighbors count on every day—clean water, safe sewage systems, and reliable flood protection. This investment will help keep our neighborhoods safe and improve the reliability of our infrastructure. I appreciate the support of Senator Devlin Robinson and Senator Wayne Fontana in helping to secure these grants for our communities."

Kulik said the following projects were awarded funding:

  • $305,000 to the Borough of Bridgeville for the McLaughlin Run Flood Control – Commercial Street Culvert Replacement Project. The work will include the replacement of current double steel culverts with ConSpan concrete precast culvert, excavation and offsite disposal.
  • $130,000 to Pennsbury Village Borough to replace the existing chlorine disinfection system at its sewage treatment plant with an ultra-violet radiation disinfection system.
  • $100,000 to Robinson Township for the Forest Grove Road Waterline Replacement project which includes replacing 1,150 feet of 8-inch diameter waterline.
  • $55,000 to Neville Township for the Arizona Avenue Waterline Replacement project, which includes waterline replacement, driveway restoration and location of existing utilities. 

The Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund is overseen by the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County and the state Commonwealth Financing Authority and provides financial assistance to entities to facilitate economic development projects in Allegheny County.
